Govt-BNP dialogue whenever the party desires: Adviser

Adviser for Communications, Housing and Public Works Golam Quader said Sunday the objective of the government would be successful if the voters elect honest and qualified candidates in the city corporations and poursobhas, reports BSS.
"We hope the voters will cast their votes applying their conscience so that honest and qualified candidates are elected," the adviser said while talking to the journalists at his secretariat office.
Replying to a question, he said the government has reviewed all aspects of the situation and satisfied with the turn of events as the election process is going on smoothly under a relaxed state of emergency.
"We want to sit in a dialogue with the BNP and it may happen whenever BNP desires," he said adding "the government wants an acceptable election participated by all political parties."
Replying to another question on whether they will sit in dialogue with the BNP secretary general, Quader said, " It is too early to say with whom we would sit for holding talks."
He informed the journalists that the process regarding release of Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman was going on. "You would see the outcome when it would happen," he added.
