Govt establishes transparency in its work: Adviser tells Chinese envoy

The present government has established transparency and accountability in its work, Adviser for Communications MA Matin said.
He told this to Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Zheng Qindian called on him at his secretariat office in the city Tuesday, reports BSS.
It has also been providing all kinds of assistance for attracting local and foreign investments, the communications adviser said.
They discussed bilateral issues of mutual interest between the two friendly countries at the meeting.
Political attache of the Chinese Embassy Shi Weh was present on the occasion.
The ambassador apprised the adviser that as a friend, his country was always assisting Bangladesh in its development efforts and is ready to continue this cooperation in future.
Qindian said the Chinese investors were eager to construct bridges on the roads as the standard of quality of their work was satisfactory.
He mentioned that six road bridges, which were known as Bangladesh-China friendship bridges, were built by them.
The ambassador said Chinese companies were interested in building the Padma bridge and the express highway between Dhaka and Chittagong through the built-operation-transfer (BOT) system.
The Chinese investors are also interested in investing in any of the construction projects.
