Govt firm to build BD a middle income nation by 2021

RANGPUR, Aug 23 (BSS): State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Moshiur Rahman Ranga today said the present government is committed to build Bangladesh a middle income nation by 2021 through materialising Vision 2021.
The government has been implementing the 'One house, one farm' project, side by side with other comprehensive uplift programmes, to assist rural womenfolk in attaining self-reliance.
"I firmly believe that Bangladesh can be transformed into a model of developed country by 2040 if we can properly implement the massive uplift programmes as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he added.
The State Minister was addressing a meeting with the male and female members of Baktarpur Village Development Society at Damodarpur on the outskirts of the city as the chief guest.
With Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Priyosindhu Talukder in the chair, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Rural Development Board for Rangpur Sirajul Islam addressed the meeting as the special guest.
He called upon the beneficiaries for proper utilisation of the loans being distributed under the project to alleviate poverty through turning the agro-based economic system self-reliant.
Proper implementation of the project would definitely help the beneficiaries in achieving self-reliance, he said.
He called upon all concerned to make the ongoing `One house, one farm' project successful through its faster implementation at the grassroots levels.
