Govt firm to develop N-region: Ershad

RANGPUR, Aug 5 (BSS): Former President and Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad Wednesday said the present grand alliance government completed all preparatory works to fulfill its commitment for ensuring smooth development and changing the fortune of people in the northern region.
HM Ershad said this while exchanging views with his party leaders and workers at his Polli Nibas residence in the outskirts of Rangpur city after reaching here on a two-day personal visit last night.
The former president said the present government has arranged adequate special funds in the current national budget to make Rangpur as divisional administrative headquarters to fulfill the long-cherished demand of the people.
Ershad also informed his party leaders and workers that organisational activities of the party would begin this month throughout the country for further strengthening the party at the grassroots levels.
