Reacting over the flower-or-thorn conundrum regarding the Prime Minister's India tour, Home Minister Sahara Khatun Saturday said the government was ready to face any opposition threat of street agitation, reports UNB.
"As Home Minister, I will do whatever necessary to face opposition's street-agitation programme," she told reporters in reply to a question about the opposition leader's remark.
Opposition leader and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia warned at a student rally at Paltan Maidan Friday that they would receive PM Sheikh Hasina back home with flowers if she succeeded in securing country's interests at her Delhi talks or else pave the way with thorns if her political archrival "sacrificed" the country's interests.
The home minister made the observations after addressing a function on the launch of English version of curricula at Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Rifles School and College at Pilkhana in the city.
