BNP alleged on Wednesday that the government is running the country adopting a unilateral policy in an undemocratic manner, reports UNB.
In a statement, BNP joint secretary general Barkatullah Bulu said, "The current regime is governing the country in an undemocratic way with a unilateral policy ditching democratic norms and practices."
He said the country's law and order situation has seriously deteriorated due to the government's extreme dependence on law enforcers.
"The lives of common people and opposition leaders and activists are now under a serious threat. The fear of getting disappeared is haunting the opposition leaders and activists alongside their mass arrest," the BNP leader observed.
He alleged that though plainclothes police picked up Tejgaon College unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) general secretary Aminul Islam Zakir on Tuesday night, law enforcers are yet to confirm his arrest.
He demanded of the government to trace Zakir immediately to remove the worry of his family members.
