BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the government to quit shouldering responsibility for all the extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances and abductions, reports UNB.

"Enforced disappearance is a crime against humanity. The government is committing this crime regularly. We think the government should resign taking responsibility for all killings, forced disappearances and abductions carried out across the country in the last five years," BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this while talking to journalists after placing wreath at the grave of former President Ziaur Rahman marking the release of JCD president and general secretary from jail.

JCD president Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel was released from jail on bail on May 6 while its general secretary Habibur Rashid Habib on May 5.

Turning to Narayanganj murders, Fakhrul said the names of a minister, his son and son-in-law have already surfaced in connection with the killings.

"The minister's son-in-law has already been removed. So it is clear the people that the government, its ministers and leaders are involved in the gruesome murder," he said. Fakhrul demanded fair investigation into the sensational murders.

He alleged that the government indulged in killings and forced disappearances by using law-enforcers to suppress the opposition and their opponents.
