The government has expressed confidence that a free, fair and impartial election can be held, despite concerns over the experience of district administrators (DCs) appointed before the announcement of the election schedule, reports UNB.

"The field administration is ready and competent. If any deviation is noticed anywhere, immediate action will be taken," Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid told reporters at the Secretariat in the capital on Thursday.

Asked whether he remains optimistic about ensuring a fair and impartial election under the current administration, the Cabinet Secretary said, "I am still optimistic. It can be done, InshaAllah."

About the experience of the DCs, he said skills and experience are developed through real-life situations.
