CHUADANGA, Apr 18 (BSS): Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque said Friday the government has undertaken a housing project for insolvent and poor freedom fighters(FFs).

"At least 25 per cent of the freedom fighters would be brought under the project. Muktijoddha Palli would be developed in every upazila," he said while speaking at a function to hand over key of a newly-built house to a local freedom fighter in the district, said an official release.

The house was built for freedom fighter Kalu Sheikh under the housing project for the insolvent freedom fighters.

The minister recalled the contribution of the freedom fighters during the Liberation War and stressed the need for paying them proper respect.

The graves of all freedom fighters will have an identical design so that the people recall their contributions after their death, he added.

The minister said a "Hate Pillar" would be constructed to show hatred to the anti-liberation elements.

There will be an investigation into the allegation of fake freedom fighters, he said, adding that the freedom fighters would be given identity cards while their facilities increased.
