State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said Tuesday the government has taken initiative to dispose all the cases relating to the militants quickly, reports BSS.
"We have taken initiative to dispose cases related to militants so that they, who are now in jail and facing trials, could not spread propaganda," he said after a meeting of the National Committee on Militancy Resistance and Prevention at his ministry conference room.
Chaired by Asaduzzaman, the 4th meeting was also attended, among others, by representatives of Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Bank, Islamic Foundation and intelligence units.
It would help prevent activity of militants who are now in jail, the minister said. He said the meeting also decided that the Bangladesh Bank would inform the home ministry of transactions by people or organisations suspected of terror links.
Based on the information, intelligence agencies and law enforcers would take necessary steps. "There is no room for militants and for their activities in the country. The government will do everything whatever is needed to end militants' activities." the state minister said.
Replying to a question on Indian government response about bomb blast, Mr Asaduzzaman said Indian government is yet to inform the home ministry. He also added that Bangla speaking people live not only in Bangladesh, but also live in other countries in the world.
