Govt works sincerely to improve sugarcane farmers\\\' fate: Minister

ISHWARDI, July 12 (BSS): Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif said the government is working relentlessly for improving the fate of sugarcane farmers as well as uplifting the sugar sector.

He viewed if the owners, laborers and employees remain united in terms of maintaining rules, regulations and disciplined the sugar industry will sure export sugar after facing the domestic demands.

The minister made this observation while addressing the function of subsidy distribution for transplanted sugarcane farming for 2013-14 fiscal in Pabna Sugar Mills at Dashuria here as the chief guest Saturday.

Land Minister Sharif said it's impossible to keep the sugar mills functional through providing crores of taka subsidy years after years.

He said destruction of national assets and forced closure of mills factories through calling unnecessary strike and blockade is obviously suicidal tasks. A sections of middlemen, corrupts and terrorists are definitely pushing the national and important institutions into degradation.

Mr Sharif also said the peace-loving and patriotic people should resist such identified and corrupt sections of the society forever collectively.
