Acting President and Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will perform his official duties from Bangabhaban while continuing to reside at the Speaker's official residence within the Jatiya Sangsad complex, reports UNB.
The acting president disclosed the information during a conversation with reporters.
Special security arrangements assigned for the president have been enforced since Friday afternoon at the Speaker's residence and its surrounding areas within the parliament premises.
Former President Mohammed Shahabuddin resigned from office on Friday citing health reasons. In accordance with the Constitution, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed assumed the responsibilities of acting president following the vacancy in the office.
