Hafiz urges BNP activists to get ready for local polls

Saifur-led Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting secretary general Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed Sunday urged all party leaders and activists to remain united and get prepared for the next polls to the local government bodies, including the city corporations.
Hafiz made the call when leaders and activists of Uttara thana Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal led by M Harun-ur Rashid called on him at his Banani residence in the city Sunday, reports BSS.
The BNP's youth front leaders presented Hafiz with a bouquet and expressed solidarity with all decisions of the BNP national standing committee in the absence of the party chairperson.
The BNP (Saifur-Hafiz faction) leader said all would have to work together to eliminate the influence of black money and muscle power in politics, and establish honest leadership.
Former state minister Shah M Abul Hossain, former lawmakers Nazir Hossain, Mosharraf Hossain Mongu, Shamsul Alam Pramanik, Ziaul Haq, KM Abdul Khaleq, Masud Arun, Ali Newaj Omar Khoiyam, Delwar Hossain Khan and Reza Ahmed Bachchu, Dhaka City BNP general secretary Abdus Salam and joint secretary Nabiullah Nabi were present, among others.
Meanwhile, BNP acting secretary general expressed deep shock at the death of Shefali Khatun, elder sister of BNP office secretary Mafiqul Hassan Tripti.
In a condolence message, he prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to members of the bereaved family.
