A Dhaka court has placed former Dhaka-7 lawmaker Haji Mohammad Salim on a five-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of Ideal College student Khalid Hasan Saifullah during the recent anti-discrimination student movement, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Akteruzzaman passed the order on Monday as police produced the former lawmaker before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.
Police arrested Salim from the capital's Bongshal area on the night of September 1.
Saifullah was gunned down in Lalbagh Government Residential Area on July 18 as he was taking part in anti-discrimination student rally.
His father Kamrul Hasan filed the case with Lalbagh thana on August 19, against 52 people including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
