FARIDPUR, May 24 (BSS): Awami League joint secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said on Sunday the BNP activists have turned away from Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman due to their destructive and anti-democratic activities for the last few years.
Under the circumstances, the BNP supporters and activists want new leadership to make the party democratic and bring back congenial atmosphere in the political arena of the country.
Mr Hanif was addressing as the chief guest the Triennial conference of Madhukhali Upazilla Awami League held at Eidgah ground on Saturday evening.
He said BNP was born in Cantonment. So they pursued the politics of destruction and militancy.
The founder of BNP had organised the party bringing in people either by bribing or under threat.
