Hartal passes off peacefully in Pabna

PABNA, Sept 22: Hartal passed off peacefully amid incessant rainfall in the district. Leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir separately took out processions in the morning from the Pabna Town Hall Maidan and the Pabna Edward College premises respectively. On the other hand, Jubo League and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) took out anti-hartal processions in the town.

No untoward incident was reported. Most of the business establishments remained open in the district. No buses or trucks plied the road, but other vehicular movements remain normal like other days.

Long-route buses did not leave terminals during the hartal hours. Trains came and left the Ishwardi railway station as per schedule, railway sources said.
