GAZIPUR, Mar 24:  Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday hartal enforced by BNP has now become an ineffective tool.

"BNP has turned hartal into a blunt weapon by misusing it," he said while speaking at a programme organised by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in Jirani area in Gazipur city.

"There is no mass movement during the ongoing blockade. It is petrol bomb and cocktail movement." BNP is committing genocide in the name of movement. "I have never seen such a movement in my life," he added.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, MP, Dhaka divisional superintendent engineer of Roads and Highway Aftab Uddin Ahmed, BRTA director Mohammed Moshiur Rahman, deputy director of Local Government Department of Gazipur Abdullah Sajjad and executive engineer of Gazipur Roads and Highway Mohammed Sabuz Uddin Khan, among others, were present on the occasion.
