The 68th birthday of Prime Minister (PM) and Awami League (AL) president Sheikh Hasina will be celebrated today (Sunday), reports UNB.
Hasina, the eldest of five children of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was born on September 28, 1947 at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
Meanwhile, Awami League has taken elaborate programmes to celebrate the PM's birthday.
Awami League Central Working Committee will present her bouquet on the day to Sheikh Hasina, now in New York to attend the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), wishing her long life and good health.
Special prayers and milad mahfils will be organised at different mosques, including Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohr prayers on the day.
Dhaka City AL will hold milad, doa and discussion at 4.00 pm at its office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city.
Special prayers will also be offered at Dhakeshwari National Temple and other worship places, including churches and pagodas, at 12.00 noon.
The ruling party will distribute food among orphans at different orphanages.
