Hasina\\\'s Homecoming Day observed

The Homecoming Day of Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was observed Saturday with elaborate programmes, reports BSS.

Marking the day, the ruling AL, its associate bodies and other organisations placed wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, held discussions, milad and dua mahfils and distributed food among the orphans.

In the morning, national and party flags were hoisted atop AL offices throughout the country. Leaders and workers of AL, its associate bodies and other organisations placed wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road-32 at 10:00 am.

After placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, central leaders of AL including its advisory council member Tofail Ahmed, presidium members Begum Matia Chowdhury and Advocate Sahara Khatun, joint general secretaries Mahbub-ul- Alam Hanif and Dr Dipu Moni went to Ganobhaban and handed over bouquets to greet their party president Sheikh Hasina.

Later, leaders of Dhaka City AL, Mahila AL, Jatiya Sramik League, Krishak League, Awami Jubo League, Awami Swechchhasebak League, Jubo Mahila League, Chhatra League, Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad, Bangabandhu Parishad and Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and other socio-cultural-professional bodies placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.

In the afternoon, Dhaka City AL organised a discussion at the auditorium of the Institution of Engineers,Bangladesh marking the day.
