The High Court (HC) asked on Tuesday ruling party MP Amanur Rahman Rana and his brother to surrender within two weeks to the trial court in connection with freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case, reports UNB.
An HC bench of Justice Farid Ahamed and Justice Muhammad Ullah issued the order after hearing a bail petition by the two accused.
Earlier, as the two accused filed the bail petition on Sunday last, the HC directed the police not to arrest or harass them till Monday.
Faruq Ahmed, an AL senior leader and a freedom fighter, was shot dead on January 18, 2014.
Later, his wife, Nahar Ahmed, filed a murder case against unnamed persons.
