HC grants bail to Shah Zafar

Overruling a lower court order, the High Court (HC) granted Wednesday bail to former BNP lawmaker Shah Mohammad Abu Zafar in a case of embezzlement of relief corrugated iron (CI) sheets, reports UNB.

After hearing both sides, a Division Bench, comprising Justice Sharif Uddin Chaklader and Justice M Emdadul Haque, passed the order.

Detained Zafar moved the High Court as the Sessions Judge's Court in Faridpur turned down his bail prayers on May 22 this year.
