HC summons AC (Land) of Bhandaria

The High Court (HC) summoned on Monday Mohammad Ashraful Islam, assistant commissioner (Land) of Bhandaria in Pirojpur to appear before it on June 15 in connection with the humiliation of a college teacher during the HSC examination, reports UNB.

An HC division bench comprising Justice Quazi Reza-Ul-Haque and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman passed the order following a writ petition filed by victim Mantaz Uddin, a cadre of the 24th BCS.

The court also asked the Chief Judicial Magistrate concerned to investigate the incident.

Senior lawyer Barrister Rafique-ul-Haq stood for the petitioner while deputy attorney general Tapash Kumar Biswash represented the state.
