HC wants to know the position of BNP leader Habib

The High Court (HC) on Monday wanted to know the position of BNP leader and former lawmaker Habibur Rahman Habib, as he did not appear before the court despite a summon order being issued against him in connection with a contempt of court charge.

The HC asked Deputy Attorney General Kazi Maynul Hassan to enquire about Habibur to the law enforcement agencies and inform to this court on November 8.

The HC bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order, and set November 8 for deliveing further order on this issue.

On October 15, the same High Court bench summoned BNP leader Habibur Rahman Habib for making a derogatory comment about the judge who sentenced BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in two corruption cases in a party program.

Habibur Rahman, also an adviser of the BNP Chairperson, was asked to appear before the court on November 6.
