Hearing on ACC official's termination adjourned until May 19

The hearing of the writ petition seeking reinstatement of Mohammad Sharif Uddin, an officer removed from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), has been adjourned till May 19, reports BSS.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order on Monday while the date was fixed for the hearing.

During the hearing of the writ petition, the ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan said that an application of Sharif Uddin seeking reinstatement of his job was pending with the ACC. In this case, the writ hearing on the same issue cannot continue in the High Court.

The court then directed the ACC lawyer to dispose of the application soon and adjourned the court.

Senior Advocate Md Salah Uddin Dolon appeared for Sharif Uddin in the court while Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik represented the state.

On March 13, Deputy Assistant Director Md Sharif Uddin, who was removed from the ACC, filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking reinstatement of his job.

On February 16, the ACC issued a notification regarding the removal of Deputy Assistant Director Md Sharif Uddin. A notification to this effect was issued by the Director (Administration and Human Resources) of the ACC Md Moniruzzaman Bakaul.
