February 27, 2014 00:00:00

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 Wednesday set April 10 for holding a hearing on a notice issued against Barrister Fakhrul Islam as to why contempt proceedings should not be initiated against him, reports BSS.

Earlier on January 14, 2013, the first tribunal issued the notice upon Fakhrul for lowering the courts dignity and interfering with the privacy of a High Court (HC) judge.

On December 30, 2012, the defence counsel filed a petition seeking an explanation from the sitting judges of ICT-1, whether they had any previous knowledge about the alleged Skype conversation between Justice Nizamul Huq, former chairman of the ICT-1, Dr Ahmed Ziauddin and Raihan Rashid.

Today appearing on behalf of Fakhrul, Advocate Tajul Islam said the contemptner has already sought unconditional apology.
