A Dhaka court moved Wednesday the hearing on charge framing against BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamigr and 40 others to January 14 in a case filed in connection with the March 2 violence last year, reports UNB.
Dhaka Metropolitan Special Judge Md Ruhul Amin passed the order upon a petition submitted by the defence counsel seeking further time.
Thirty-seven BNP men, including its standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy and Barkatullah Bulu, appeared before the court on the day while Mirza Fakhrul was absent.
Ramna thana police filed the case against the 41 BNP men and 1,200 unnamed people accusing them of obstructing law enforcers from discharging their duties, attempting to kill them and exploding crude bombs in front of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College on Bailey Road of the capital on March 2, 2013 during the BNP-led opposition's blockade programme.
Police submitted a charge sheet in the case against the BNP men on July 5, last year.
