Hearing on Khaleda's bail plea Jan 07

CUMILLA, Nov 25 (UNB): A court here on Sunday fixed January 7 for hearing a bail petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a case filed over the arson attack in Chauddagram upazila of the district in 2015 that claimed lives of eight people.

Cumilla District and Sessions Judge KM Shamsul Alam passed the order when the state counsel filed a petition seeking time.

The court earlier rejected the bail petition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the case for several times.

On July 23, the High Court directed the Comilla court to dispose of the bail petition filed by Khaleda by July 26.

On July 17, Khaleda Zia filed a petition before the court seeking bail in the case.
