Hearing on Samrat's bail plea April 13

A Dhaka court on Thursday fixed April 13 to hold hearing on a bail petition of Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, an ex-Jubo League leader, in a case filed for amassing wealth beyond his known legal income sources, reports BSS.

Judge Al Asad Md Asifuzzaman of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-6 passed the order after Samrat's lawyer plea seeking a fresh date for bail and indictment hearing as his client couldn't be present before court due to poor health.

The judge set the new date for hearing while ordering to make Samrat present at the court at that time.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case against him on November 12, 2019 after investigations alleging that the former leader of the ruling Awami League's youth body acquired assets beyond his known income sources.
