Awami League (AL) will observe the historic 7th June today (Thursday) commemorating the announcement of the Six-Point Demand Day, reports BSS.
On this day in 1966, the AL announced the Six-Point demand that led to the independence struggle culminating in the War of Liberation in 1971.
Marking the occasion, the AL will hoist the national and party flags at party offices across the country.
Besides, the party leaders will place wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi.
Acting General Secretary of the party Syed Ashraful Islam has urged the party leaders and workers to observe the day in a befitting manner after consultation with the respective local administrations.
