HT Imam blasts CPD, TIB over comments on govt role

Prime Minister's Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam on Saturday blasted two civil society organisations -- Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) -- over comments on government's performance, reports UNB.
"Our dream and goal are same to build Bangladesh as a developed country by 2041. We won't drop from our development journey. There are many journalists in our country who practise yellow journalism or gutter press. Most popular media also mention documents of CPD and TIB too," he remarked at a felicitation ceremony for Tangail district members of parliament at Jatiya Press Club in the capital.
Tangail Zila Journalist Forum organised the ceremony while Md Ashraf Ali presided over the function.
HT Imam also said double digit GDP growth has to be achieved by the next one year.
"We have to go forward faster than our other competitors. Once there was a reputation for sarees of Tangail district. If we give business people incentives, their business will further develop," he said.
Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak noted that CPD sees lack of enthusiasm in the government's first 100 days. But the government did not think about the number of days.
"Bangladesh is a role model in the world. Now many world leaders mention the reference of Bangladesh in different programmees for our development. Awami League government wants development of the country," he said.
The minister also said the country is now self-sufficient in food. "We have made our manifesto how the village can be built as city. However, we have to modernise the agriculture sector."
Members of parliament of Tangail district, journalists and others were present at the function.
