Adviser to the Prime Minister on Establishment and Administration HT Imam Monday hoped that honesty and transparency would be ensured in government services through spreading access to information (A2I) programme to doorsteps of the rural people, reports BSS.
Inaugurating a two-day workshop on 'Digital Bangladesh', HT Imam said that honesty in discharging duties and responsibilities of any organisation would come automatically if transparency were ensured.
Access to Information (A2I) programme of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) organised the workshop for the government's e- governance focal point officials ranking joint secretary to additional secretary at BIAM auditorium in the city Monday.
Private Secretary to the Prime Minister Nazrul Islam Khan chaired the inaugural session while Principal Secretary M Abdul Karim spoke as the special guest on the occasion.
HT Imam said the government wants to reach its services to the grassroots level by introducing modern technologies in its every department from which the services are being provided.
He expressed his firm belief that the participating government high officials will play an effective role in ensuring access to information to all by engaging their respective experiences and acumen apart from lessons to be learnt from the workshop.
The administration is working relentlessly as teamwork, he said and urged all to work with the government in a coordinated manner for technological advancement towards digital Bangladesh.
Nazrul Islam Khan, also National Project Director of the A2I project, said e-governance focal point officials from now on should think what should be the monitoring mechanism in the ongoing project activities run by their respective ministries.
"You (focal point officials) should not think only about system development rather think whether the common people are getting the benefit of the government provided services in more transparent way or not", he said.
