HuJI leader held in city

Another leader of banned outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) has been arrested in Dhaka city. HuJI leader Md Ibrahim, 40, was nabbed from the city's Sayedabad area on Tuesday night, said Saidur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. DB police's Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Hossain Matubbar said that Ibrahim, who had recently received training from abroad, was the chief of the organisation's operations wing. Details of the arrest will be provided in a media briefing later on Wednesday said a DMP official. Last week three HuJI members, including a regional coordinator of the Islamist party, were held in Dhaka by Rapid Action Battalion personnel, according to a news agency.
