SIRAJGANJ, May 30 (BSS): Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said here today that those who have been pushing common people's life at risk by alluring them of taking to Malaysia would not be spared.
"Not only people of Bangladesh but some foreigners are also involved in such human trafficking. Those who killed many people squeezing money after abducting them with an assurance to take them to Malaysia would be traced out. The United Nations and other international humanitarian organisations are looking into the matter. Action would be taken against those human traffickers," he said.
The minister said, "Common people from almost all the areas of Sirajganj have been taken on board river trawlers. Those human-beasts who had committed such an inhuman crime by deceiving the eyes of law would be arrested and be brought under the jurisdiction of law."
Mohammad Nasim said these while speaking as the chief guest at the district law and order situation review meeting at Shaheed Shamsuddin Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner's office.
Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Tanmoy Das presided over the meeting. It was addressed, among others, by former Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister and District Awami League president Abdul Latif Biswas, general secretary Abu Md Golam Kibria, Prof Dr Habib-e-Millat Munna, MP, district police super SM Emran Hossain, district civil surgeon Dr Shamsuddin, District Commander of Freedom Fighters Central Command Council Gazi Shafiqul Islam Shafi, Sadar Upazila Parishad chairman Reaz Uddin and Ullahpara Upazila Parishad chairman Maruf Bin Habib.
