Iajuddin satisfied over elections preparations

President Iajuddin Ahmed Monday expressed his satisfaction over the preparations by the government and the Election Commission (EC) to hold a free, fair and credible election, which was scheduled for December 29, reports UNB.
"The entire nation is marching towards the upcoming general election. I am happy to see that the government and the Election Commission have taken all measures to hold a free, fair and credible election," he said while addressing the First Convocation of the Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology (ADUST) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the city.
President Iajuddin also called upon all concerned to extend their full cooperation in this regard. "I am hopeful, we will Insha-Allah achieve our desired goal," he said.
Chairman of University Grants Commission Prof Nazrul Islam, ADUST Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Anwara Begum, Pro-VC Prof M Abul Hossain Sikder and Prof Kabir Hossain Talukder also spoke at the function. Dhaka University VC Prof SMA Faiz was the convocation speaker.
Dr Iajuddin said that in this age of globalisation, quality education was the essence of the time to face the emerging challenges of the 21st century.
He expressed the hope that all universities, both private and public, would take appropriate measures, including state-of-the-art curricula, congenial atmosphere, so that the students of tertiary level could make them worthy enough.
