The International Crimes Tribunal-1 has directed the investigating agency to submit its inquiry report on the killing of MIST student Shaikh Ashhabul Yameen and 21 others on September 14 next, reports BSS.

The three-member tribunal headed by Justice Md Golam Murtoza Majumder passed the order on Tuesday after prosecutor Gazi M H Tamim moved for the prosecution. Other prosecutors of the tribunal including the Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam were present in court at that time.

Out of 15 accused of the case, seven arrested individuals appeared before the court during the hearing.

Yameen, a fourth year student of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), was shot dead by police near Savar bus stand area during the 'complete shutdown' programme enforced by the anti-discrimination students movement on July 18 last year.

Local people and eyewitnesses alleged that police shot Yameen at point blank range and transported the body on an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC). They reportedly dragged the body of Yameen from Savar bus stand to Pakija crossing, where it was left behind.
