At least four activists of Ganajagaran Manch, including its spokesperson Imran H Sarker, were injured as they faced police action during a demonstration after Sayedee verdict at Shahbagh intersection in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
The three other injured are Tanzil, Nazmul and Bindu.
Witnesses said Ganajagaran Manch activists started gathering at Shahbagh intersection from the morning centring the verdict against convicted war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayedee, nayeb-e-ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, and waited for the verdict.
The activists later voiced frustration as the Supreme Court (SC) pronounced the judgment commuting his (Sayedee's) death penalty, earlier handed down by the International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1), to jail unto death.
