Increasing skill dev through training stressed

President M Zillur Rahman has asked Chief of Army Staff General M Abdul Mubeen to increase training for skill development of army personnel so that they could get employment opportunities after retirement, reports BSS.
"Creating employment opportunities for retired army personnel are important as many of them go on retirement before 40 years of age," he said when the Army Chief called on him at Bangabhaban Thursday.
The President said skill development training, during the service period would help the army personnel contribute to the development activities even after their early retirement.
Gen Mubeen apprised the President that the winter exercise of Bangladesh army had been going on from November 28 and different units of seven divisions were participating in the exercise across the country.
"Mobile hospitals of the units are providing medical treatment for the rural people for free apart from their regular task", he added.
Gen Mubeen said, "A contingent of army is working in Satkhira district for the welfare of Aila affected people."
The President urged the Army Chief to increase the activities of the medical camps for providing more treatment for the common people.
He lauded the role of Bangladesh Army, especially during the natural disasters and said the presence of army in the disaster-hit area helps the people face the natural calamity with courage and fortitude.
Secretaries of the President's Office attended the meeting.
