Meanwhile, Prime Minister's Economic Affairs Adviser Dr Mashiur Rahman said Friday that India does not have any intention to interfere in Bangladesh's internal affairs as there is no such scope to do so, reports UNB.

He said this while talking to reporters at Sonargaon Hotel in the city after a meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. PM's Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Gawher Rizvi was also present.

Dr Rahman said Bangladesh is ready to extend its cooperation in the areas which would bring in 'maximum' welfare for all in terms of bilateral relations with neighbouring countries.

Responding to a question, Dr Rahman said, they, in general terms, discussed with the Indian minister how both the countries can move forward through expanding and deepening ties with India.

He said India's friendly relations with Bangladesh and its cooperation towards Bangladesh would remain unchanged and it would move forward and would deepen further.

Dr Rahman also said they discussed at what stage the development cooperation between Bangladesh and India remains now and where it could be taken in the coming days.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at a meeting with Sushma Swaraj said democracy is now absent in Bangladesh.

Syed Akbaruddin, the spokesperson of the Indian External Affairs Ministry, in a pre-departure brief press conference at the airport said the Indian government will work with the government of Bangladesh, and all other issues 'internal' to Bangladesh will need to be addressed and resolved by the people of Bangladesh.
