Indictment hearing against Moudud on July 14

A Dhaka court on Sunday set July 14 to hold hearing against BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed in a case filed for acquiring wealth beyond known source of income, reports BSS.

Judge Israil Hossain of Special Judge Court-6 set the date.

According to the case documents, Moudud refrained from declaring wealth of Tk 44 million (4,40,37,375) in his statement submitted to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on July 23, 2007. Apart from this, wealth of Tk 70 million (7,00,38,237) was found inconsistent with his known source of income.

The anti-graft body filed the case against Moudud on September 16, 2007 with Gulshan thana and ACC deputy director and investigation officer of the case Sharifur Haque Siddiqui submitted formal charge against him on May 14, 2008.
