BOGRA, Apr 25 (UNB): Two rival groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) clashed at Govt Azizul Haq College Sunday while collecting degree examination forms standing in the queue leaving 10 activists injured from both the sides.
Of the injured, Aminul was admitted to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in a serious condition.
Cadres of both the sides used sharp weapons, sticks and rods during the hour-long clash. General students left the campus in fear.
Later, supporters of Russel, BCL convener of the college unit, in a protest meeting on the campus demanded arrest of outsiders. They also declared Tajul, Golap, Naimul, Russel and Sagar persona non grata on the campus and demanded their arrest within two days.
Meanwhile, our DU correspondent adds: At least ten activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were injured in a clash between BCL men of two residential halls of Dhaka University (DU) Sunday.
BCL activists of Zia Hall and Surya Sen Hall of the university locked into clash over a trivial matter about sitting on the bench in a class at noon. They threw brickbats and hit one another with iron rods leaving at least 10 injured, witnesses said.
Nurul Huda, Nurul Islam and Rashedul Hasan, among other students received injuries and were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, DU unit BCL President Sohel Rana Tipu rushed to the spot and calmed down the situation.
