Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said on Tuesday a syndicate of anti-liberation, communal, militant forces is the 'organised factory' of producing rumours, reports UNB.

"We must take necessary steps to save social networking site Facebook from the grip of this syndicate," said Inu.

He was speaking as chief guest at a view-exchange meeting on 'Rumour: Role of Media and Social Networking Sites' held at the CIRDAP auditorium.

State Minister for Information Tarana Halim, Principal Information Officer Kamrun Nahar and Prime Minister's information adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury addressed, among others.

Inu said currently different rumours are being spread over shifting of court trying Khaleda Zia. The minister gave his view that it's not important where the court is situated rather, it's important to see whether it's functioning as an open court.

He also urged all to get united against spreading of rumour, propaganda, incitement and misinterpretation and asked the media to take awareness programme against these.
