Inu, Menon shown arrested in attempted murder case

A Dhaka court has showed former ministers Hasanul Haq Inu and Rashed Khan Menon arrested in a case filed over an attempt to murder Md Mokhlesin in the capital's Bongshal area during the July 2024 Mass Uprising, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter passed the order on Monday as police produced them before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the case. The court later sent them back to jail.
According to the case statement, Md Mokhlesin was shot on August 5, 2024, while participating in a procession at Nazimuddin Road near Chankharpool intersection. He was later taken to Mitford Hospital in a critical condition by locals.
Following the incident, Mokhlesin filed a case on January 1, 2025, accusing the suspects in an attempted murder case.
Menon and Inu were arrested on August 22 and August 26, 2025, respectively, and have been in jail since then.
