Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu urged the media Thursday to refrain from fabricating information and distorting history in presenting news to maintain objectivity, reports BSS.
"Media should not weigh democracy and terrorism in the same scale in the name of neutrality. In a similar way mass media should not weigh Gonojagaran Manch and Hefazat-e-Islam or freedom fighter and rajakar in the same scale. Media's tendency of balancing on these issues hampers society and democracy," the minister said.
The minister was addressing as the chief guest at the cover-unveiling ceremony of two research books styled "Gonomadhyamer Chanakya Koushal" and "Swapno Banizye Laxmipushpa" written by Dhaka University (DU) Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) department associate professor Samia Rahman and DU Criminology department lecturer Syed Mahfuzul Haque at the conference room adjacent to Dhaka University vice-chancellor's office.
