Inu urges Muslim countries to stop terrorism in name of Islam

Information Minister Hsanul Haq Inu has called upon the OIC member states to take actions against isolated terrorist activities in Muslim countries in the name of Islam, reports BSS.

"This will be the most effective step to stop campaign against Islam linking with terrorism," he said speaking at the inaugural session of 10th Islami Information Minister Conference in the Iranian capital of Tehran Wednesday, said an official release referring to messages received from Bangladesh mission in Tehran.

Inu protested Israel's barbaric attacks and killings of unarmed women, children and elderly people in Palestine and said Bangladesh is always vocal in favour of the just rights of the Palestinian people.

He elaborated the stance of Sheikh Hasina government and said there should be trials for violation of human rights by Israel.

Presided over by Iran's Cultural Affairs Minister Ali Jannati, the meeting was also addressed by OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani, among others.

Meanwhile, the information minister held separate meetings with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Cultural Affairs Minister Ali Jannati and OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani.

In his meeting with the Iranian Speaker, Hasanul Haq Inu stressed expansion of bilateral ties in the fields of information, art-culture and trade. The Iranian speaker appreciated various development programmes taken by the government of Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh.

Later, the information minister held a meeting with OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani at Hotel Azadi and congratulated him for assuming the highest office of the OIC. Hasanul Haq Inu is staying in Tehran to attend the conference of OIC information ministers from December 1 to 4.
