BRAHMANBARIA, Oct 9 (UNB): A local Jubo League leader has built a Taj Mahal-shaped palanquin to present Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina as a token for his loyalty to the ruling Awami League president.

M Ruhul Amin, president of ward-5 Jubo League under Nabinagar municipality, and a furniture trader in profession, made the palanquin with teak wood.

It took almost two years to complete the work costing Tk 1.7 million. The palanquin with the eye-catching designs was put on display for people Thursday.

He started making the palanquin in December, 2012 with the help of two carpenters.
