Jamaat leader arrested in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Nov 21 (BSS): Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a Jamaat leader from the city's Bandar area Friday morning.

The arrested was identified as Mohammad Shafiul Alam, 41, a ward level president of the Bandar thana unit of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Acting on secret information, police arrested Shafiul from the Bandar thana area around 9am, said Mohammad Shariful Alam, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Bandar police station.

He was wanted in a case filed in connection with recovery of explosives and creating obstruction in police duty, the ASI added.
