Jamaat leader detained in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Aug 28 (UNB): Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from the Agordanri area in Sadar Upazila Wednesday night over violence.

The arrestee was identified as Aktaruzzaman,52, son of late Abbasuddin of the same village.

Golam Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station, said on secret information, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Aktaruzzaman at night in connection with several cases.

The arrestee was wanted in several cases, the OC added.
