Jamaat-police clash leaves 20 hurt in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Apr 12: At least 20 people including seven policemen were injured in a clash between the Jamaat-Shibir activists and police at Anderkilla in the city today.
Activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir brought out a militant procession after Asr prayers to protest yesterday's police action on them.
As the activists were proceeding towards Jamal Khan area with wooden sticks, crackers and stones, the police tried to stop them. Agitated activists pelted stones on the police and a violent clash ensued between them and the police.
Police arrested 10 Shibir activists from Anderkilla and Jamal Khan area.
