Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, which regained party registration this year after more than a decade, has declared the highest income and expenditure among all political parties in the calendar year 2024, reports bdnews24.com.
In financial disclosures submitted to the Election Commission (EC) on July 31, the party showed an income of Tk 289.7 million and spending of Tk 237.3 million for the year.
The figures were made public on Tuesday, revealing Jamaat's income to be almost twice that of the BNP and over 11 times greater than the Jatiya Party's earnings.
According to Jamaat, the bulk of its funding -- Tk 165.6 million -- came from membership and worker subscriptions.
The largest expense category was salaries, allowances, and bonuses for its workers, totalling Tk 65.7 million.
