Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan has said people did not vote for the government on January 07, they rather put a blot on its face.
He made the comment at a discussion marking the 88th birth anniversary of the party's founder, Ziaur Rahman, in the auditorium of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh, on Thursday.
"We (BNP leaders and activists) have that courage to face the government's bullets and ammunition through our peaceful movement," he said.
"We'd restore democracy even at the risk of our lives. We have to remain on the roads to ensure the rights of 180 million people of Bangladesh," maintained Dr Khan.
He said the BNP had always been in the movement to ensure people's rights.
